Often described as a petite powerhouse, Kexin is a small girl with a big voice.
Since 19, she has been rapidly garnering a following in the local music scene with her versatility from sweet jazz numbers to high energy pop hits. She was named “Jazz Queen” as a PK Challenger on Taiwan’s Super Idol 2011. Her musical interest started in university, when she joined the varsity jazz band. Her musical journey slowly evolved as she started to perform professionally. Effectively bilingual, Kexin was also talent-spotted and featured in several TV shows.
Kexin was appointed as David Tao’s Concert World Tour backing vocalist and has travelled with him to perform at over 15 city states, including countries like China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia etc.
In December 2012, Kexin finally released her own EP [Get Set Go], in which she penned songs of positivity and new beginnings. [Get Set Go] quickly topped Singapore’s CD-RAMA Regional Charts within the first week of sales. Her first hit single “Prove Myself” also ranked 12 on local radio’s Year 2013 Top 20 Singles. The song was later a soundtrack for Channel U’s primetime drama show, “Marry Me”.
Kexin was awarded the Breakthrough in Arts Award by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong during Youth Time 2014 and was invited to participate in the Youth Time 2014 Dialogue with the PM and other youths.
